This is not your typical kid's martial arts class; your children will learn the same fundamental principles taught in adult classes, but with positions & techniques modified specifically for the learning rate of kids 8-12 years old.

Curriculum designed by Head Instructor, Professor Rob, to emphasize body awareness, coordination, and provide training kids can utilize to protect themselves against bullying.

Kids love it because they have fun, develop genuine self-esteem based on real growth in actual ability (rather than the false "everyone's a winner" mentality so prevalent these days).

Island Top Team is a premier martial arts academy in Nanaimo and has established a reputation as one of the top academies in Western Canada. ITT's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is unique in that it streamlines the process of learning what is notoriously the most difficult martial art to master, and it develops in students a deep understanding of principles and concepts rarely found outside of the highest levels of the art.

Their system is proven for learning BJJ in competition both individually, with one of their students defeating a black belt after 2-years of training Jiu-Jitsu, and as a team, with 12 gold medals at the 2016 BC Provincial Championships, placing them as #1 Academy in the tournament.

At both the 2017 BC Provincial Championships & Western Canadian Championships, they won the NoGi Team Championship as a single academy, placing above much larger teams that were made up of several academies!
